Bonding & Attachment Tapes
Norton. closed-cell foam bonding tapes, with high-performance
pressure-sensitive adhesive on both sides, provide a desirable alternative to mechanical
fasteners. Norton bonding tapes are clean and easy to use, either by hand or in automated
applications. Normount. urethane foam mounting tapes are made with a variety of
aggressive pressure-sensitive adhesives and are highly conformable, ensuring maximum
contact and adhesion. An alternative to mechanical fasteners in a wide range of
applications, Normount provides a smooth panel finish with fewer possible leak points.
Normount urethane technology is durable in all weather conditions and resists UV, fungi,
oxidation, ozone and extreme temperatures.
Norcryl. solid acrylic attachment tape is available as a thin, clear or translucent
tape often specified for security glass lamination, muntin bar attachment, computer
security devices, trailer side skin bonding and cellular phone antennas.
Thermalbond. high-strength polyurethane foam is used as a spacer in structural glazing
systems and as a thermal break or die-cut for vibration damping applications. |
Sealing and Gasket Tapes
Norton sealing tapes are compressible, closed-cell, elastomeric
foam tapes which work under pressure to seal against air, vapor, moisture, water, dirt and
sound infiltration. When compressed, the PVC foam cell walls retain a memory of their
original shape and exert outward pressure to seal a joint. This ensures a positive seal,
even against irregular surfaces. Norseal® PVC foam tapes are used in a wide variety of
applications - from window glazing and appliance seals to truck cab and body seals,
die-cut gaskets and electronic equipment gaskets.
Norex® is an extruded PVC foam designed to provide an easily installed, economical
solution for appliance seals, automotive seals and pre-fab or metal building applications
(available as NSF. Certified).
Norprene® extruded thermoplastic foam sealant provides enhanced temperature and
chemical resilience for demanding applications such as marine hatch gaskets, curtain
walls, refrigeration panels and open/close louver gaskets.
Korel® micro-cellular polyurethane foams have excellent compression-set resistance and
high resilience, providing a gasketing seal that won't break down over extended use. Korel
foams are conformable and flexible even in extreme environmental conditions, and can be
easily die-cut. Typical Korel applications include; cellular telephone gaskets, electrical
enclosures, electronic gasketing, vibration damping, cushioning and acoustical control.
Lo-Skid is a high-density urethane foam widely recommended for bumpers and
footpads for appliances, and electronic products because it provides a high coefficient of
surface friction combined with a smooth, non-marring surface. Lo-Skid is flexible and can
be easily die-cut. Available uncoated or with adhesive on one side.
Dynafoam® foam-in-place gasketing is a robotically-applied foam gasket suitable for a
variety of high-volume applications. Because of its thixotropic property, Dynafoam will
not slump. Dynafoam can be extruded on three axes and maintains a 1:1 height-to-width
ratio. Selected applications include automotive taillight seals, fixed window assemblies,
washing machine splash tub seals, fuse and connector boxes, sunroofs and HVAC filter
housings. |
