With global leadership in the development of specialty engineered polymer products, the Engineered Components business unit builds on core competencies in the fabrication of unique material combinations. Through its expertise in metal-polymer constructions, injection molding and fluoropolymer processing, as well as bearing and seal design, this business creates proprietary, patented products that meet our customers' exacting requirements in aerospace, automotive and general industrial markets.


Bearings
The Bearings business unit designs and manufactures high-performance plain polymer bearings that deliver consistent quality with close tolerances. Primarily used throughout the automotive industry, Norglide. bearings are also ideal for applications requiring oscillating and rotating motions. Combining a high-performance fluoropolymer compound with either an open mesh fabric (bronze or stainless steel) and/or a metal backing Norglide self-lubricating bearings offer maintenance-free motion in numerous industrial design applications.

Norslide. PTFE liner for control cables is a high quality sliding tubing designed primarily for use in the automotive industry. With the addition of proprietary compounds, Norslide offers enhanced performance capabilities such as improved abrasion resistance and specific compression load.


High Performance Seals
The High Performance Seals business unit designs and manufactures a full line of polymer seals for a wide variety of critical applications and processes. Proven to withstand extreme pressure and temperature ranges as well as harsh chemical environments, our high-performance seals provide smart, engineered solutions for the most demanding applications. Using state-of-the-art CAD/CAM programs, our team of engineers combines unparalleled seal design expertise with advanced material and spring development to create innovative sealing solutions for a variety of industries and applications. Among the markets served by the Seals business are aerospace, industrial pumps and compressors, instrumentation, and medical, to name just a few. Saint-Gobain seals are manufactured at ISO 9001-certified facilities in Garden Grove, California, and Kontich, Belgium. The world leader in spring-energized seal technology, our Omniseal. seals are used in applications where durability, resistance to chemicals and operation at temperature extremes is critical. We also offer a complete line of lip seals, featuring both metal and polymer-based casings. Ideal for high-temperature and pressure applications, our OmniLip™ rotary lip seals provide sealing at high speeds, controlled leakage, extended wear, and lower operation cost. In the aerospace market, Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics is an internationally recognized supplier of gas turbine shaft lip seals and spring-energized seals. Our seals are an integral part of the space shuttle and space station programs.

The instrumentation market relies on the wide-ranging chemical resistance of our seals. We are the global leader in high-pressure liquid chromatography sealing solutions.

In the petrochemical market, we are a recognized supplier of offshore sealing products, meeting customer requirements for outstanding temperature and pressure capabilities as well as extreme chemical resistance, long life and low wear.

The High Performance Seals sector supplies the automotive market with seals for high-performance racing cars. Offering low friction and excellent sealability, our PTFE seals are a winner on the Formula 1 racing circuit.

For the industrial pumps and machinery markets, our spring-energized pump seals offer exceptional chemical resistance in applications ranging from high-pressure pumps to vacuum pumps.


Engineered Polymer Products
The Engineered Polymer Products business designs and manufactures custom-molded and machined high-performance products for the most challenging industrial applications.

Working with standard PFA, PTFE and PEEK, along with proprietary materials such as Fluoroloy., Rulon. and Meldin. our expert engineers design products that withstand the harshest environmental conditions, including corrosive chemicals and extremes of pressure and temperature. Our comprehensive in-house manufacturing allows us to control the production process from raw resin to finished components.

The Rulon. line includes a variety of high-performance bearings and parts, meeting the need for enhanced wear resistance in a PTFE-based material. Primarily used in mechanical, electrical and chemical applications, Rulon withstands a variety of harsh environments such as extreme dryness, cryogenic temperatures, water, steam and hydrocarbon fuel.

Designed for fabrication into low-cost, high-value bearings and components, our Meldin. products outperform metal and other materials in applications where performance, temperature and wear are critical. Meldin's superior strength, combined with its self-lubricating properties, provide long, maintenance-free service for the most demanding bearing and structural applications.

Through sophisticated CAD/CAM programs and our comprehensive in-house tooling, engineering, design, testing and fabrication capabilities, we can provide prototypes through high-volume requirements for a wide range of industries, including semiconductor, pumps and valves, chemical processing and instrumentation. Our component products include Marathon. diaphragms, Fluoroloy. seals, bearings and electronic insulators.

Bearings and Seals Technology also offers a complete line of slow drip and sprinkler irrigation systems that provide reliability and convenience in a variety of agricultural applications.


Microelectronics
Combining unparalleled leadership in technology and innovation, a comprehensive product line, on-continent fabrication and a thorough understanding of market needs, the Microelectronics business is a leading supplier to the semiconductor industry.

We supply ultra-pure, flurorpolymer-based fluid-handling components and systems for the semiconductor market that are designed, manufactured and assembled to exacting "build-clean" industry standards. Our broad product line - from pumps and valves to fittings, integrated manifolds and high-purity tubing - allows us to offer a full systems approach to our customers.

Our patented technology provides leading-edge solutions. We invest a large percentage in research and development to continually meet demanding customer requirements for ultra-pure and chemically-resistant fluid- handling solutions. We specialize in the design and manufacture of fluid-handling products for both wet process original equipment manufactures and semiconductor producers. Injection molding from high-purity PFA ensures cleanliness for demanding environments. One of the first companies to develop the integrated manifold concept for critical fluid management, we offer a broad size, product, and feature range in manifold valves to maximize system performance at the lowest cost.
